Deana Carter was born Jan. 4, 1966, in Nashville, Tenn. She is the daughter of Fred Carter Jr., a guitarist who in the mid-'60s and '70s played on close to 90 percent of all Nashville sessions with artists such as Elvis Presley, Simon & Garfunkel and Roy Orbison. Deana Carter's first big break came when one of her demo tapes caught the attention of Willie Nelson, who invited her to take part in the 1994 Farm Aid VII concert as the show's only female soloist. That same tape led to a record deal with Capitol Records that year.

Here is the way I play "We Danced Anyway" by Deana Carter
First off, capo 4th fret Chords Low to high D: xx0232 G: 320033 Bm: x24432 A: x02220 For the intro, play the D chord like this
e#--0+2-----| B#--3-------| G#--2-------| D#--0-------| A#--0-------| E#--x-------| + = hammer on
Intro: DGBmA Play the intro chords through the verses.
The summer air was heavy and sweet You and I on a crowded street there was music everywhere I can see us there
In a happy little foreign town, With the stars hung upside down, A half a world away Far, Far away
G I remember, A We were laughing G We were so in love, so in love
BmG And the Band played DA songs that we had never heard BmG But we danced anyway DA We never understood the words BmG We just sang Oh DAG A la la la la la la la la la A And we danced anyway
DGBmA
They say ya can't go back Well baby I don't believe that Come along with me, Come on and dance with me
Maybe if I hold you close, Baby we could just let go Of these that tie us down Will come back again
I remember You were laughing We were so in love, we were so in love
I haven't exactly picked out the cool guitar solo, but just play the intro chords, good enough.
Tabbed by Adam Lee. Any corrections are welcome; [email protected] (thanks to Dan for helping me with the song in the first place, "watch that Bm chord, its not that bad. . .LEARN IT" :-)
