Detentor de um percurso musical pouco ou nada linear e, sobretudo, muito discreto, o músico britânico David Gray começou a dar nas vistas no espaço além fronteiras em 1999, aquando da edição do álbum "White Ladder", e em especial graças ao single "Babylon". Natural de Manchester, onde nasceu em 1970, David Gray iniciou o seu relacionamento com a música em bandas punk, que integrou enquanto ainda andava na escola.
