Formado em 1985 pelo compositor Neil Finn, o Crowded House ficou conhecido no Brasil com a canção “Don’t Dream It’s Over”, que foi tema da novela "O outro" da Rede Globo, em 1987. No ano seguinte a banda emplacou seu último grande sucesso no Brasil, “Better Be Home Soon”, que foi incluída em duas coletâneas, "Mega Hits 2" da Emi/Odeon e "Hitmakers" da Som Livre. A banda neozelandesa, apesar do estrondoso sucesso em sua terra natal e na Inglaterra, nunca conseguiu repetir a façanha nos EUA, onde emplacou apenas estes dois hits.
