Biografia:
The Black Lips descrevem a si próprios como uma banda de "flower punk" formada em Atlanta, Georgia, Estados Unidos em 2000.
Quando ainda adolescente, eles se reuniram após o guitarrista Cole Alexander e o baixista Jared Swilley deixarem a Renegades, e guitarrista Ben Eberbaugh deixar a Reruns. O baterista Joe Bradley juntou-se poucos meses depois. Eles lançaram um seu primeiro 7" no final de 2001/começo de 2002 com seu selo Die Slaughterhaus.
