Biografia:
Nascida Audrey Kathleen Ruston na capital belga, era a única filha de Joseph Anthony Ruston (um banqueiro anglo-irlandês) e Ella van Heemstra (uma baronesa holandesa descendente de reis ingleses e franceses). Seu pai anexou o sobrenome Hepburn, e Audrey se tornou Audrey Hepburn-Ruston. Ela tinha dois meio-irmãos, Alexander e Ian Quarles van Ufford, do primeiro casamento da sua mãe com um nobre holandês.
Audrey foi considerada, a príncípio, uma garota "alta, ossuda, de pés excessivamente grandes para se tornar uma estrela".
