Amy Jade Winehouse (14 de setembro de 1983 - 23 de julho de 2011) nasceu numa área suburbana de Enfield, Londres, Inglaterra. Numa família judaica de quatro elementos com tradição musical ligada ao jazz. Seu pai, Mitchell Winehouse, era motorista de táxi e sua mãe, Janis, farmacêutica. Tinha ainda um irmão mais velho, Alex Winehouse.
Cresceu no subúrbio de Southgate e fez os estudos na instituição de ensino Ashmole School. Por volta dos dez anos
