Biografia:
Akira Yamaoka nasceu em 6 de fevereiro de 1968, em Niigata, Japão. É um músico e compositor de trilhas sonoras para jogos. Antes de ser compositor para jogos de videogames, Akira trabalhou como designer. Mas após estudar produção, se tornou músico. Yamaoka entrou para a Konami em 1994, para trabalhar nos jogos "Contra: Hard Cops", "Sparkster" e "Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2".
Atingiu uma certa notoriedade por ter composto a trilha sonora da saga "Silent Hill".
