Ingrid Michaelson nasceu em 1979. É cantora e compositora, além de tocar violão e piano. Faz um som indie-pop e tem músicas nas trilhas sonoras de Grey's Anatomy e One Tree Hill.
Ingrid aprendeu a tocar piano ainda com cinco anos de idade, e treinou até os sete no Manhattan's Third Street Music School, continuando por muitos mais anos no Jewish Community Center of S.I.'s Dorothy Delson Kuhn Music Institute. Enquanto isso, era orientada pela técnica vocal Elizabeth McCullough.
