David Ryan Adams (5 de novembro de 1974, Jacksonville, Carolina do Norte) é músico do estilo Alternative-Country/Rock.
Aos 16 anos, abandonou a escola para trabalhar em uma sapataria e começar a escrever músicas.
Sua primeira incursão na vida musical foi na escola com a banda punk Patty Duke Syndrome, alimentado por influências como o Dead Kennedys e Sonic Youth. No entanto, após sua primeira decepção amorosa, procurou um gênero musical que poderia encarnar seus sentimentos.
