Play the "D" like the regular "D", only don't put your finger on the "e" string. I know is a whole different chord, but I forget the name of it.
________________________________________________________________________ Ab Midnight in August
Hanging with my friends
Out til 4, wake up at 2 D Then do it all again
Ab Radios and crickets
Watch the meteors fly
The parking lot sure empties out quick D When the cops come by
AbD Hold on to this AbD You never know what you might miss
[Chorus:] A Could be any town on any night D The Texaco's all we need for light A Nothing really happens, and that's alright AbDA On this one true summer night
Ab There's this pretty girl
I'm not sure of her name
Pretend I don't notice D But I know that she's doing the same
Ab Maybe meet up later
Nothing better to do
Than sit in the front seat D Just talk as the dawn runs blue
AbD You gotta hold on to this AbD Never know where you're going with that first kiss
[Chorus:] Ab Could be any town on any night D The Texaco's all we need for light Ab Nothing really happens, and that's alright AbDA On this one true summer night
