O R.E.M. foi uma banda estadunidense de rock (de Athens, Geórgia) formada em 1980. Seu nome é uma referência ao estágio de sono REM (Em inglês, Rapid Eye Movement, Movimento Rápido dos Olhos) no qual ocorrem os sonhos mais vividos.
