Pete Droge is an American adult alternative/folk rock musician.
His debut album Necktie Second, released by American records in 1994, featured the tongue-in-cheek "If You Don't Love Me (I'll Kill Myself)", (which also appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Dumb and Dumber), as well as the songs "Sunspot Stopwatch" and "So I am Over You."
Droge's next album, Find a Door, was released 2 years later in the summer of 1996 under the name of Pete Droge and The Sinners; his backing band included Dave Hull (bass)

E Like you I've been hurt seen my face in the dirt B But I never reacted like you
The last time we met, you seemd so upset E We you left town you did not say bye
AE Then I heard you'd been seen way down in Eugene AE Working as a factory slave AE Though the life that you took came from no storybook BA You spent it before it was saved
E On the forth of July B See the sparks in the sky A When you're sick of the tryin B and you're tired of the cryin E Then the forth of the July B is a good day to die A We'll celebrate each year E Your independance from here
If you only had just a glimmer of hope Then I know you'd have done some great things But you tossed out your gift and it's makin me wish I'd been there when you found yourself down
But you turned to no one but a bullet and a gun and the bang blame did end with the day And I sit here and I drink it still hurts me to think of the sad songs that we used to play
On the forth of July See the sparks in the sky When you're sick of the tryin and you're tired of the cryin Then the forth of the July is a good day to die We'll celebrate each year Your independance from here
