Otis Redding (9 de setembro de 1941 - 10 de dezembro de 1967) foi um influente cantor estadunidense de soul, conhecido por seu estilo passional e pelo sucesso póstumo "(Sittin' On) the Dock of the Bay". Nascido em Macon, Geórgia, ele começou a trabalhar na indústria musical no começo dos anos 60, gravando "These Arms of Mine", que se tornou um hit. Em seguida vieram "Mr. Pitiful", "I Can't Turn You Loose", "(I Can Get No) Satisfaction" e "Respect".
