Mark Knopfler (nascido em 12 de agosto de 1949 em Glasgow, Escócia) é um guitarrista e cantor britânico mais conhecido pelo seu trabalho com a banda Dire Straits que liderou. Considerado por muitos um génio da guitarra, é bastante idolatrado, principalmente pelo seu estilo alternativo de tocar. Paralelamente, lançou álbuns a solo, escreveu bandas sonoras e criou ainda uma outra banda (Notting Hillbillies).
