Biografia:
A Barbie foi criada por Ruth Handler e o seu marido Elliot em 1959, que tinham uma filha de nome Barbara. Observavam Barbara que brincava apenas com bonecas bebês quando criança. A garota era apaixonada por bonecas. Quando cresceu, já pré-adolescente, seu pai observou que Barbara ainda brincava com as suas bonecas. Então, a sua mãe, Ruth Handler, teve a ideia de criar uma boneca adolescente. O modelo original da Barbie foi baseado numa boneca erótica alemã.
