The Lawrence Arms are a punk rock trio from Chicago, formed in 1999. The lineup consists of Brendan Kelly (vocals & bass), Chris McCaughan (vocals & guitar), and Neil Hennessy (drums). They have released seven full-length albums and are currently signed to Epitaph. Their music and lyrics exhibit their propensity for juxtaposing references from history and literature with American pop culture. The band takes its name from a building the members resided in (and were later evicted from) called the Lawrence Arms

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Slowest Drink At The Saddest Bar On The Snowiest Day In The Greatest City -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C#5A5 My eyes opened to the emptiness. E5B5 My face was nothing but crooked lines. C#5B5A5 I guess somewhere I really fell behind. C#5A5 My feet were cold against the bathroom tile. E5B5 Took a shower just to pass the time. C#5B5A5 My mind was full, too much to figure out.
C#5B5A5 Walk through the snow to a bar where there's no one I know. C#5B5A5 Drink slow, drink slow with nowhere to go.
And when I leave I'll be singing this song. Summer's e|---------------4-----------7----------4-------------------| B|--------/5----------5--4-------4----2---2--4h5p0-2--0-----|
gone, carry on, I'm a ghost in the dawn. e|---------------4---------7----------4---------------------| B|--------/5-------5--4-------4---2------4/5~---------------|
E5B5A5 I was lost on the airplanes. E5B5A5 I was high on the fast trains. C#5B5A5 My heart was a bird in a small cage. E5B5C#5A5 And I was drunk on the radio waves. E5B5C#5A5 I was drunk, I was drunk on the radio waves.
A5 Too much coffee I’m not steady now. E5B5 Quiet apartment, ears are ringing loud. C#5B5A5 The winter drowns out all the city sounds. C#5A5 Hang my towel over the shower rod. E5B5 So many hours just hanging on. C#5B5A5 So many chances have come and gone.
