The Get Up Kids é uma banda formada no final de 1994, em Kansas City.
Em 1996, a banda lança seu primeiro álbum "Four Minute Mile". É um álbum que mostra melodias bem arranjadas,com uma pitada de crueza, honestidade, e trabalho árduo. o Four Minute Mile é o inicio de muita coisa para a banda. Após o lançamento a banda faz uma turnê pela Europa, e Estados Unidos, com mais de 200 shows de trabalho do Four Minute Mile.
Em 1999, a banda entra novamente em estúdio para gravar o álbum "Something To Write Home About".
