Biografia:
Após o enorme sucesso do hit "Cannonball" e do álbum Last Splash que pegou o The Breeders de surpresa, a vocalista/guitarrista Kim Deal formou o The Amps em 1994 como um modo de lançar material novo enquanto os Breeders davam uma pausa (e enquanto Kim cuidava da reabilitação de sua irmã Kelley para com as drogas). Com o antigo baterista Jim MacPherson, Deal formou a nova banda com músicos contratados de outras bandas de sua cidade natal, incluindo Nathan Farley e Luis Lerma dos the Tasties.
