Biografia:
Nascido na Filadélfia, sua carreira começou como baterista de uma banda chamada "O Cadillacs" que depois se tornara "Harold Melvin & Blue Notes". Seguidamente vindo a lançar um album, assinando contrato com a Philadelphia International Records em 1972 tendo no mesmo vários Hits, que vendeu 2 milhoes de cópias logo no primeiro disco.
Depois de divergências Teddy resolve iniciar carreira solo, cantando hit singles como "The More I Get a More I Want"
