Biografia:
"Podía tocar cualquier cosa que tuviera cuerdas". Así definía Quint Davis, director del Festival New Orleans Jazz and Heritage, a Snooks Eaglin, que murió el 18 de febrero en esta ciudad, de la que nunca salía. Sufrió un infarto y llevaba un año luchando contra el cáncer de próstata.
Fird Eaglin Jr. nació en Nueva Orleans el 21 de enero de 1936, y siendo niño, quedó ciego a causa de un glaucoma y lo primero que tocó fue un ukelele con cuerdas de goma que le regalaron.
