Biografia:
Ao contrário de muitos cantores folk norte-americanos, Sam Amidon não é um músico que baseia sua arte apenas nas tradições do campo e no estilo country. Filho de cantores folk, Sam já empunhava um banjo quando mal sabia falar e cresceu ouvindo música tradicional estadunidense muito além do country; a sua arte de hoje deve muito também à música indígena e àquela feita nas montanhas, solitária e contemplativa, de violão calmo e clima mais frio, de poucas exaltações.
