[Verse 1] C#m We're in the church house kneeling down Asus2 We're in the subways underground B We're in the bars and on the street C#m We drive a truck we walk a beat C#m We're in the mills and factories Asus2 We make the steel we cut the trees B A thousand-yard stare, eyes of glass C#m But we will see you when you pass

C#m We lost our homes, we lost our dreams Asus2 All our goals have turned into schemes B We hurt each other and ourselves C#m So after long, traumatic spells
[Chorus] C#m We are the walking A We are the walking BC#m We are the walking wounded
[Verse 2] C#m We cried out from the deepest pit A But rise back up each time we're hit B We fell from power and from grace C#m But resurrection's in our face C#m We're just like little girls and boys A We play with grown up toys B We never thought of sink or swim C#m My brother hurts me so I hurt him
[Chorus] C#m We are the walking A We are the walking BC#m We are the walking wounded

[Verse 3] C#m Like a circle, round and round Asus2 We go up so we come down B We don't explain or apologize C#m We pull the veil across our eyes C#m We see through your fake refrain Asus2 But we won't let you see our pain B You may not know us but you'll see C#m There are more than you'd believe
[Chorus] C#m We are the walking A We are the walking B We are the walking C#m We are the walking
C#m We are the walking A We are the walking BC#m We are the walking wounded
