The Microphones foram uma banda lo-fi de Olympia, Washington e tinha como líder Phil Elvrum.
Em 2004, Elvrum anunciou que o nome The Microphones seria mudado para Mount Eerie. No entanto, no final de 2006, lançou um single utilizando o nome antigo da banda "Two Songs" dos The Microphones, causando confusão se o nome seria readotado ou não.
