Biografia:
The Breeders foi formado em 1988. Uma fita com as primeiras demos com o baterista Mickey Bones e a violinista Carrie Bradley foi enviada a Ivo Watts-Russell, que imediatamente assinou com a banda em sua gravadora 4AD Records em 1989. O álbum de estréia Pod foi gravado por Steve Albini em Edinburgo, e lançado em 1990. A influência de Deal era marcante, mas a baixista Josephine Wiggs e a baterista Britt Walford também adicionaram novos elementos ao som da banda.
