You Could Be Happy by Snow Patrol
This is my first attempt ever at actually writing a chord chart so go easy on me.
This song is actually played with a keyboard or xylophone, but you can pluck it or
strum it however you feel comfortable. If you want to play in key with the
actual song, use a Capo on III. I like to play the G on the 1st and 3rd verses like this:
e--3---|
B--3---|
G--4---|
D------|
A------|
E------|
And on the 2nd and 4th verse as a 6 string bar chord, naturally progressing from
the F#m bar chord.
Intro: D Dmaj7 G
D Dmaj7 G
You could be happy and I won’t know
D Dmaj7 G
But you weren’t happy the day I watched you go
D Dmaj7 G
And all the things that I wish I had not said
D Dmaj7 G
All played in lips til it’s madness in my head
Em F#m G
Is it too late to remind you of how we were?
Em F#m G
And not our last days of silence, scream, and blur?
Em F#m G
Most of what I remember, makes me sure
Em F#m G
I should have stopped you from walking out the door
D Dmaj7 G
You could be happy, I hope you are
D Dmaj7 G
You made me happier than I’ve been by far
D Dmaj7 G
Somehow everything I own, smells of you
D Dmaj7 G
And for the tiniest moment, it’s all not true
Em F#m G
Do the things that you always wanted to
Em F#m G
Without me there to hold you back, don’t think just do
Em F#m G
More than anything I want to see you go
Em F#m G
Take a glorious bite out of the whole world
D Dmaj7 G – fade to black….
