Um dos gêneros mais bacanas, porém pouco comentado é o power pop, que teve grandes representantes na década de 70 como Raspberries, Big Star e Cheap Trick. E nos anos 80, o gênero teve bons grupos, que conseguiram algum sucesso e atenção. Um deles, os Romantics, entupiram as FMs do mundo (e daqui também) como o hit "Talking In Your Sleep".
