Biografia:
Wintersun começou como um projeto solo do guitarrista e vocalista finlândes Jari Mäenpää (Ex-Ensiferum), hoje é uma das bandas mais promissoras da Finlândia. Desde 1995 o músico perfeccionista Jari Mäenpää vinha compondo suas próprias músicas em paralelo a banda a qual tocava, o Ensiferum. No final de 2003 em uma conversa com Andy (Produtor da gravadora alemã Nuclear Blast) Jari mencionou sobre suas músicas e que pretendia gravar no futuro um projeto solo.
