Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (Toronto, 16 de fevereiro de 1990), mais conhecido por seu nome artístico The Weeknd, é um cantor e produtor musical canadense de R&B e PBR&B. É conhecido pelo uso de falsetto e uma sonoridade bastante atmosférica em suas canções. Sua carreira teve maior notoriedade após o sucesso "Wicked Games". Em 2015, ajudou a produzir e colaborou com duas músicas, "Earned It" e "Where You Belong" na trilha sonora do filme "Fifty Shades of Grey".
