"61C Days Turned to Nights" by Justin Sane (of Anti-Flag) Chordage by Jake Winkler [email protected]
Tune down 1/2 step (to match recording) BB/A#G#mF#EE* E 2 2 4 2 0 (7) B 4 4 4 2 0 9 G 4 4 4 3 1 9 D 4 4 6 4 2 9 A 2 1 6 4 2 7 E x x 4 2 0 (0) You better know that X5 means X power chord. You can get the rhythms and strumming patterns from the recording, as well as when to mute (usually the power chords).
Verse 1 BB/A# I'll catch you again someday
G#min G#min F#E on the streets of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
BF# then again, maybe not
E5B5F#5G#5F#5 Where we can sit and reminisce about our younger years
E5B5 and how we'd stay in bed all day
F#5F# when you should've been in class
Chorus E* BE* BF# then, then in the night that light shown down upon you
E* BF# made you look like the star that you were
E* BE* BF# then in the night that light shown down upon you
E* BF# made you look like the star that you are
Verse 2 BB/A# Daytime thoughts on those streets
G#min G#min F#E through winter breezes, freezy gusts of wind
BF# cutting razors to my years
E5B5F#5 those bitter cold days cast your silhouette
G#5F#5E5B5 angel-like, through the fogged-up cafe glass
F#5F# reality became a dream
Chorus E* BE* BF# then in the night that light shown down upon you
E* BF# made you look like the star that you were yeah
E* BE* BF# then in the night that light shown down upon you
E* BF# that light shown down upon you
Bridge(let chords ring): G#m Driving you to the airport
B watching you walk off to the
F#G#m plane that did carry you away
G#mB you were too sad to look back to
wave goodbye
F#G#mF#B so I'm not going to tell you what you missed
F#BF#G#mF# And I'm not going to tell myself that I will ever find you
EF# glowing in those lights again
BF#G#mF# cause I don't know if I will ever have that chance
E5F#5G#5B5 but still I'll never forget those days we had
E5F#F# and I'll never forget those nights in the dark
F#F#F# in the pitch black moonlight
Verse 3 (arpeggios): BB/A#G#m The streets of this town are still cold
G#mF#EBF# and still windy but the 61C doesn't feel same
EBF# you said, "let's just leave it to fate"
G#mF#EB so I guess I'll just have to leave it to fate
F#F#F#F#F# and wait, and remember those days turned to nights
Chorus E* BE* BF# When in the night that light shown down upon you
E* BF# Made you look like the star that you were
E* BE* BF# When in the night that light shown down upon you
E* BF# Yeah
Verse 3 is arpeggioed plus some embellishment, and I didn't tab out the individual notes the chords are basically the same. Maybe some other time. The other tricksy part is in bridge right after "tell you what you missed". He palm mutes and does a pick-up chord. I have it written as F# pick-up to B, which works, but he is probably doing only this: E---- B---4 G---4 D-4-- A-4-- E----
