John Clayton Mayer (Bridgeport, Connecticut, Estados Unidos - 16 de Outubro de 1977) é um cantor e compositor que passeia com facilidade pelo rock, pop, blues e folk.
Em 2003, ganhou um Grammy de Melhor Performance Vocal Pop Masculina pelo lançamento em 2002 do compacto "Your Body Is A Wonderland" do disco Room for Squares. Em fevereiro de 2005, foi premiado em Composição Pop Masculina pela canção "Daughters" do disco Heavier Things. Os seus rivais ao título eram Elvis Costello, Josh Groban, Prince e Seal.
