Field Report is an American folk band formed in 2011 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band is led by singer/songwriter Christopher Porterfield (a form member of the Justin Vernon-led band DeYarmond Edison.
Field Report, an anagram of Porterfield's surname, was culled together in the studio while recording their 2012 self-titled debut. They suddenly found themselves championed by their former idols: offered support tours by Counting Crows and Aimee Mann, lauded by the likes of Mark Eitzel and Richard Thompson, and covered by Blind Boys Of Alabama.

AMBROSIA FIELD REPORT
INTRO: G
VERSE: CD Looking for the Win Win GC In all this wishfull drinking D Got me thinking that I ought to G Pray in wordless groans CD And be fed ambrosia by the doves GC But they'd hold me to what I said once DG Years or hours ago, I can’t be trusted only thrown
CHORUS: EmC And I keep spinning my wheels EmC And I keep spinning my wheels GDC Nothing's gonna change GDCG Nothing's gonna change
VERSE: CD I keep dreaming 'bout the sheriff's kid GC Who I used to chew Skoal with DGCD He was cruel to the other kids just for fun CD Always sought them out later on GC But I never had the stones to tell him off D He died alone years ago G On a golf course with a gun
CHORUS: EmC And I'm here, spinning my wheels EmC And I'm here, spinning my wheels GDC And maybe something's gonna change GDCG Maybe nothing's gonna change
VERSE: CD Time was I could stand up straight GC But I lost my balance with the ballast weight DGDD7Bm7 Cast over the gunnels overboard CD Now I got nothing left to push up against GC But this imgainary resonance DGC Staring at a spot out on the opposite shore
BREAK: GCD And that old familiar well throat burn GC Of a drunk who really got hurt DGD Don't worry baby we got the past on the run BmCD And despite our sins, we would not sink GC We were buoyed by your brackish grace D In our mouths, like an ocean drink, GC We salt shown in the sun D And the grackles learned the car alarms GC Keeping all the neighbors warned and lovers armed DG I do believe we're going down
CHORUS/OUTRO: EmC And I keep spinning my wheels EmC And I keep spinning my wheels GDC Maybe nothing's gonna change GDC Maybe something's gonna change GDC Maybe nothing's gonna change
