Fad Gadget foi um dos principais influentes no movimento da vanguarda electrónica e do New Wave no inicio dos anos 80.
A sua música é conhecida pelos sintonizadores e pela utilização de alguns objectos, tais como garrafas, martelos, moto-serras e etc. É também conhecido por ser um pouco sarcástico, bem-humorado e que transmite nas suas letras um pouco de tudo isso.
Apresenta-se ao vivo coberto de alcatrão e penas, estando quase sempre entre a plateia.
