Check it out: Psalm 131 (go on read it, it’s short!)
After a number of months hearing nothing but bad news on the radio, and after almost a
year of recession, and feeling very, very afraid at times, I finally got it! No-one
ever got redemption through listening to economic experts, no-one gets the truth
from the news. We get some of the truth, a glimpse, a headline perhaps, if we’re lucky….
But listen to the emotional quality of the person reporting the news.
What do you hear? Fear, depression, anxiety? Where in the Bible does it say to find a
person in a stateof fear and depression and follow them? Nowhere I can see…..
The trick to making it through these times of upheaval keep our hearts and heads simple.
Let us be humble enough to have no concern for things too great for us. And let God be God,
and let us be like well fed children in our mother’s arms.
