The Girl On The Hill
by George Assaf
C
I’m gonna sing you the time
G
When the wind was divine,
G7 C
When he carried the scents and the tales.
C
He came up one night,
G
He wasn’t too slight
F G C
But he gently blew in my ears;
Am Dm
“Go off and seek the world,
G C
Go off to fulfill your destiny,
Am Dm
Go and find your will,
F G C
Go and find the Girl On The Hill”
I rode my unicorn
To the place where were born
The dwarves and the elves of the wild.
I went through the mist,
I answered my quest,
That tune was charming my mind.
Chorus
White nymph by a lake
Nature’s glamorous make,
You were lying under the moon.
You turned for a while,
With a fairy smile,
Already my heart was in ruin.
Bridge
With the grace on your face
You filled all the place,
By a dance you made the blind see.
You danced on the strand,
While holding in your hand
A crystal ball you had made for me
Bridge
That ball was so nice,
It outweighed any price,
I was scared it may brake up.
I looked in your eyes,
Tears came to my eyes,
The wind whistled and woke me up.
“Go off and seek the world,
Go off to fulfill your destiny,
Go and find your will,
This ain’t your Girl On The Hill”
The wind has his laws,
White nymphs and little boys,
Aren’t said to share the same cave.
You kept dancing with the ball,
I went back down the fall,
Knowing my treasure is safe.
"I went off to seek the world,
I went off to fulfill my destiny,
I went to find my will,
I found a muse on the hill"
