Ten Thousand
From "The Medicine"
Tabbed by thatchadmiller (Twitter)
While some of the submitted chords are correct that this is in E, that's
not the best way to play it. The way to get the hammer on's is capo 4 in
the C position. It sounds better and is much more playable.
Capo 4

Verse 1
C G C
Ten thousand glimmering like coals in our chest
Am7 G C F
Our ball bearings drawn to the magnetic breath
C G C
Of ten thousand weeping with wings on their tears
Am7 G C F
Amidst ten thousand voices for ten thousand years
C G C
For ten thousand graves yawning unlocked and unlatched
Am7 G C F
Now ten thousand holes with rocks on their backs
C G C
Ten thousand tombs gaping wide singing the praises
Am7 G C F
Of ten thousand bodies unlaced and unlaid
Pre - Chorus
G Am7 F
As the ten thousand highways unfold their doors
G Am7 F
For the ten thousand standing on Nineveh's shores
C G C
Where the blood of a husband silences wars
F G C
For the girl who rises to meet Him, and she sings
Chorus
F
World, I have overcome you
Am7
World, I have overcome you
G
World, I have overcome
F G
By my song and the blood of a son
Verse 2
Ten thousand rivers run red like my veins
Where the bones of men hum like a rattling cage
For sinew to cling to for wind to remain
In ten thousand lungs for ten thousand days
Breathing like a choir of holes in the ground
Where the cynical have lain, where the cynical go down
Save the gravity of time lets go of her drowned
Like ten thousand sparrows unlocked and unwound
Pre Chorus
Chorus x2
