Jack Hody Johnson (Honolulu, Havaí, Estados Unidos, 18 de maio de 1975), cresceu na Baía Norte de Oahu, Havaí, aprendeu a tocar violão aos 14 anos de idade.
Jack se aproximou mais da música aos 17 anos, quando ao participar de uma competição de surfe, sofreu um acidente que o deixou 90 dias parado. Durante esse período começou a compor influenciado por ídolos como Bob Marley.
