Banda de Rock Progressivo surgida no final dos anos 60 que tinha em sua primeira formação Tony Banks (teclados), Peter Gabriel (vocal), Anthony Phillips (guitarra) e Mike Rutherford (baixo). Formada em Godalming, Reino Unido, gravaram o primeiro disco, o "From Genesis To Revelation", de 1969. De 1967 a 1970, houve a passagem de alguns bateristas pela banda, dentre eles Chris Stewart e John Silver.
Em 1970, no lançamento do segundo LP (Trespass), John Mayhew assumiu as baquetas, gravou o disco e logo foi substituido por Phill Collins.

Hello again! here's something a little newer, still from a time when Genesis was writing very creative songs. This one's actually written by Banks and Rutherford.

The intro is basically just like the first verse.

Bridge 1 The second time through the bit above, the measure of the G/D chord becomes in 5/4 time, with a Gm6/D on the second half of beat 2. This only happens here, leading into the first bridge.
