Free foi uma banda de Londres, Inglaterra que se iniciou no final da década de 60, mais precisamente em 1968, integrada pelo guitarrista Paul Kossoff; pelo vocalista Paul Rodgers; pelo baterista Simon Kirke; e, pelo fenomenal baixista, de apenas 16 anos, Andy Fraser, oriundo do John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.
Seu som tem raízes fincadas no mais puro Blues/Rock britânico típico do final da década de 60. Apesar de dois bons discos de estréia, Tons of Sobs (1968) e Free (1969)
