Brian Bonz grew up in Brooklyn, New York, but not Williamsburg. His early influences, The Matthew Good Band, and Bjork, helped him shape his early sound playing in bands with friends from the neighborhood.
Working with artist and producer James Flames, Brian put out some early EPs and refined his sound playing with his brother, Mike Strandberg. Band lineups changed as time went on.
His current lineup consists of a 4 piece band and the occasional brass section and extra special guests (see Brian Bonz and the Dot Hongs).
