I used to play this song with the GAD progression, but from the first time I played along with the song, I knew it wasn't correct. This song is played with power chords. I have used the other version of this song's tab as a template to create this one, so thank you, [email protected]. Aside from a couple of possible typos, this should be 100% correct.
Chords:
A5B5E5EmG#5C#5 E X X X 0 X X B X X X 0 X X G X X X 0 X X D 7 9 14 2 6 11 A 7 9 14 2 6 11 E 5 7 12 0 4 9
Of course, you can always play E5 as [X 7 9 9 X X], but it sounds as if Chan slides from A5 to B5 to E5 rather than skip to the A string to play the E5.
Intro: A5B5E5 (3 times) then A5B5Em (once)
Verse 1: A5B5E5A5B5E5 Don't you give up. Don't allow disaster. A5B5E5A5B5E5 Don't you give up. Don't you let her win. A5B5E5A5B5E5 We're talking about a forever after. A5B5Em Don't you give up. Don't you dare give in. A5B5E5 Don't you give up. Don't you dare give in.
Chorus 1: A5B5E5 Doesn't it seem most precarious? A5B5E5 Doesn't it seem such a chance to take? A5B5E5 Doesn't it seem most precarious? A5B5Em Why does it feel like a big mistake?
Second Verse: A5B5E5A5B5E5 Please understand and hear what I'm saying. A5B5E5A5B5E5 The time is now and we don't have long. A5B5E5A5B5E5 She could be oceans away tomorrow. A5B5Em So soon your chance will have come and gone. A5B5E5 So soon your chance will have come and gone.
Chorus 1
Verse 3: A5B5E5A5B5E5 The tight-wires strung and you're out in the middle. A5B5E5A5B5E5 All eyes upon you no net below. A5B5E5A5B5E5 Inches to go and you're almost home free. A5B5Em Feel the wires swaying to and fro. A5B5E5 Feel the wires swaying to and fro.
Chorus 2 (First 3 lines same as Chorus 1): Doesn't it seem most precarious? Doesn't it seem such a chance to take? Doesn't it seem most precarious? A5B5C#5B5 Why does it feel like it would be a damn shame? G#5E5 Would be forever if it meant a day. A5B5 How stoically I exclaim A5G#5 As she turns from me and walks away.
Here is where the harmonica solo starts. The intro pattern is repeated 3 times during this solo (A5 B5 E5 3 times, then A5 B5 Em once). There is one part near the end of the solo where the pattern is A5 B5 E5 E5--where the E5 chord is repeted for emphasis. This occurs on the third A5 B5 E5 just before doing the A5 B5 Em.
Verse 4: A5B5E5A5B5E5 The light in her eyes explanation escapes you. A5B5E5A5B5E5 Longing to please and not feel alone. A5B5E5A5B5E5 And she doesn't know it but really she loves you. A5B5Em Some day so soon you're gonna make it home. A5B5E5 Some day so soon you're gonna make it home.
Chorus 1 (Repeat once)
