Intro: B/GB/F#A/F#G/EG/C Listen to the song to figure out the hammer on’s
Verse:
B/GB/F#A/F#G/EG/C I'm tired, twisted, barely breathing, buried in the dark. It could have been. B/GB/F#A/F#G/EG/C Don't be concerned, it's just the power of a breaking heart.
How good am I hiding it? B/G Look, I've got some bad intentions. B/F#A/F# Guilty as fucking charged. G/EG/C Still standing stable, more than able 'cause I know who you are. B/GB/F#A/F#G/E I know the birthdays, anniversaries, all the first days I missed. G/C I regret them all.
But now I know this:
Chorus:
C I know that God exists. D I held her in my arms. GEm I never knew I was able to ever feel this strong. G Take me off your worry list. D It'll be better that way. GEm I'm really fine and there's nothing we haven't talked about. GD So, take me off your worry list I said, "Throw it away." G This is what my life is about.
I might have been gone but I never walked out.
Intro played one more time.
Verse:
B/GB/F#A/F# I've taken a thousand red eyes to change your point of view. G/EG/C What kind of man would take the trust you break and still follow through? B/G Cause I'm standin' right here. B/F#A/F# And you may not show up. G/EG/C This same gate 14 where, honestly, I'm just sick of calling your bluff. B/GB/F#A/F# And it's just embarrassing, that I nearly threw up G/EG/C And I'm trying hard to change the things I always screw up. B/GB/F#A/F#G/E And at the top of my list, this visitation's no relationship. G/C But I gotta make the best of it.
Cause I know:
Chorus:
C I know that God exists. D I held her in my arms. GEm I never knew I was able to ever feel this strong. G Take me off your worry list. D It'll be better that way. GEm And I'm doin' fine and I've got plenty of friends around. C Take me off your worry list. D Just throw it away. GEm Well, it's time to stand up on my own for her. CD Cause I'm packing it up, and I'm comin' today.
Bridge:
G I couldn't wait to finally pick my family up. G/A Everything is quiet and covered in snow. Em There's something wrong here... C Nobody's at home.
Oh, no, no, no, no, no. CD Now, I'm back in the driver's seat.
Heading back home. GEm Yeah, back to Texas on my own.
C Take me off your worry list. D It'll be better that way GEm And I'm doin' fine and I've got plenty of friends around. C Take me off your worry list. D Just throw it away. GEm Yeah, it's time to stand up on my own for her. CD I'm packing it up, and I'm comin' today. G This is what my story's about. EmC I might have been gone but I never walked out. D I'm packin' it up, and I'm comin' today.
G This is what your story's about. G My pretty little girl, can you figure it out? G If it helps to know so there is no doubt,
Just listen to the stories.
Not everything is glorious. G Some hurt, some love, some shout.
I fought the world and I lost that bout. G And you are what my album's about.
