Beth Hart foi fascinada pela música desde criança. Aos quatro anos de idade, ela começou a tocar piano. Primeiramente, ela se concentrou em obras clássicas de Bach e Beethoven, mas à medida que crescia, ela também começou a tocar peças mais mainstream de artistas como Etta Jones, Otis Redding e até Led Zeppelin.
Quando ela tinha cinco anos de idade, seu pai foi condenado à prisão por tráfico de drogas. Após a sua libertação, os pais de Beth divorciada após 15 anos de casamento.
