Em meados de 2001, Carlos Rodriguez, o vocalista do lendário Fun People, decide começar uma nova etapa em sua vida artística, e troca seu antigo pseudônimo de Nekro para Boom Boom Kid.

Mais precisamente, durante o lançamento de "Angustia, No No" do Fun People, já eram vendidos alguns singles desse novo projeto.

No final de 2001, lança o primeiro disco, "Okey Dokey" pelo seu próprio selo, Ugly Recordz.

O segundo disco se chama Smiles from Chappanoland.
