El cantante de country Aaron Tippin nació en 1958 en Pensacola, Florida. Tippin creció en Carolina del Sur donde actuaba en cafetines locales en los 70. Tras ganar el concurso cazatalentos “You Can Be A Star” en 1986, consiguió un contrato y se trasladó a Nashville en 1987 para componer temas para artistas como The Kingsmen, Charlie Pride y The Midsouth Boys. Tras realizar su primer espectáculo en una sala de fiestas en 1990, Tippin editó su single de debut “You’ve Got to Stand for Something” en 1991.
