311 (pronunciado "Three-Eleven"). O nome da banda vêm do fato do baixista P-Nut por uma brincadeira, há muito tempo atrás foi pego pela polícia andando nu na rua. Quando preso, foi indiciado por atentado ao pudor, o que no estado de Nebraska é conduta tipificada no artigo nº 311 do código penal de lá. 311 é uma banda de rock alternativo (e até o álbum Soundsystem, de 1999, um tanto experimental) nascida em Omaha, Nebraska.
