The Mayor Of Simpleton - XTC ----------------------------- from 'Oranges and Lemons' words & music Andy Partridge
[Notes: The 'C D' in the verse is played on the track by sliding the C chord up to 3rd fret and back, arpeggiating(?), while the bass line dances around to wonderful effect. I just strum the chords. I also tend to play a lot of the chords with the two little fingers at 3rd fret, except for the D, e.g.
This generally makes it easier to shift between chords, and makes things a bit more interesting than playing them straight, although it's not always appropriate -- in the bridge for instance]
