Intro : GCAmDGG
GC Well the walls too wet to sit on AmG And there's a curtain right over my head C Stomp my feet waiting for a bus AmDG But decided to walk instead
GC And the American saxophone follows me AmD All the way from the teller G to the public house C My fingers are always in my ears AmDG But the reads always in the mouth
Chorus : GC And if you ever cross your heart and hope to die AmG Voices in your head saying you must cry CAmD Then there's more to you than meets the eye GC But if you go about your business with a capital 'B' AmG It is sure to catch you up with a capital 'C' CAmD And then you will be in debt with a capital 'T'{'A'/'B'} G Just step outside
GC Well we could stop for a conversation AmDG If we could think of anything to say GC But you know you've got nothing to talk about AmDG When nothing happened yesterday GC And if I ever committed a murder AmDG Well I think I'd go about this way GC Never mind a rope or a dagger and cloak AmDG I could spend a week on this estate
Repeat chorus
GC What are you doing tomorrow AmD And the day after and the day after that GC I've some money to spend I can borrow AmDG I've become a man I admire
