The Color Fred é uma banda liderada pelo guitarrista e vocalista, Fred Mascherino ex-integrante do Taking Back Sunday. A banda tem esse nome devido a uma enquete pela internet "The Color Fred" foi declarado o nome favorito pelos fãs. Em 4 de outubro de 2007, Fred deixou o Taking Back Sunday para se concentrar em seu novo projeto, no mesmo ano saiu o álbum 'Bend to Break' lançado dia 30 de outubro.
