Peter, Paul and Mary were a US folk-singing trio whose nearly 50-year career began with their rise to become a paradigm for 1960s folk music. The trio was composed of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers. After the death of Mary Travers in 2009, Yarrow and Stookey continued to perform as a duo under their individual names.[1]

[Verse 1] CBmCD Oh, once I had a little dog, his color it was brown, CBmCD I taught him how to whistle, to sing and dance and run. GEmBmGEm His legs they were fourteen yards long, his ears so very wide, GEmBmCD Around the world in half a day, upon him I could ride.
[Chorus] GCDEmCD Sing tarry-o day, Sing Autumn to May.
[Verse 2] CBmCD Oh, once I had a little frog, he wore a vest of red, CBmCD He leaned upon a silver cane, a top hat on his head. GEmBmGEm He'd speak of far off places, of things to see and do, GEmBmCD And all the kings and queens he'd met, while sailing in a shoe.
[Chorus] GCDEmCD Sing tarry-o day, Sing Autumn to May.
[Verse 3] CBmCD Oh, once I had a flock of sheep, they grazed upon a feather. CBmCD I'd keep them in a music box from wind and rainy weather. GEmBmGEm And every day the sun would shine, they'd fly all through the town GEmBmCD To bring me back some golden rings, and candy by the pound.
[Chorus] GCDEmCD Sing tarry-o day, Sing Autumn to May.
[Verse 4] CBmCD Oh, once I had a downy swan, she was so very frail, CBmCD She sat upon an oyster shell, and hatched me out a snail. GEmBmGEm The snail it changed into a bird, the bird to butterfly, GEmBmCD And he who tells a bigger tale would have to tell a lie.
[Chorus] GCDEmCD Sing tarry-o day, Sing Autumn to May. # # Submitted to the ftp.nevada.edu:/pub/guitar archives # by Steve Putz # 7 September 1992
