Lucinda Williams é uma cantora/compostora realmente especial. Lucinda foi nomeada pela revista Spin como uma das 40 artistas mais importantes e ativas do mundo rock n’ roll. World Without Tears é uma pequena obra-prima de rock com forte sotaque country. Basta ouvir músicas como Righteously, Those Three Days, Sweet Side e a música-título, destaques do disco, para entender os elogios da revista.
Em 2007, quatro anos depois de World Without Tears, ela lança West, seu oitavo álbum em uma carreira de 37 anos.
